1. Why is my fire pit not lighting?

If your El Fuego Fire Pit isn’t lighting, try placing a ball of newspaper or kitchen towel into the melted wax between the drum and wick. This helps the wax fully melt and ignite. This step is only needed on the first burn.

2. Can I use the El Fuego Firepit on grass or my decking?

Yes, though be careful as the drum itself obviously does get very hot. Like most fire pits, we suggest that when burning on grass or wooden decking you put a heat resistant tile or an El Fuego Base under the burner to avoid it scorching.

3. Does the wax in the container remain solid or does it turn to liquid?

There is 6.5kg of wax, the top layer that’s burning turns to liquid (Similar to a normal candle) the rest remains solid until the last hour.

4. Can you use the 8hr refills on their own?

No! You will need to use the initial 12hr container or you can purchase the Fire Pit Drum. When it is empty all you do is drop the refill into the empty container and use again.

5. What to do after 2-3 burns?

We recommend after 2-3 burns clean out all residue from the drum and all will be ready to use again.
