The importance of hygiene in life

On my recent travels through Europe to establish our e-commerce company, I had time to think about the world around me. In 72 hours, I went from central London's most popular hotel chains to Heathrow, Amsterdam, Frankfurt by road, back to Amsterdam, and finally home. Having such a short and explosive trip, one thing that stood out to me was the apparent need for hygiene everywhere. On top of that, the airlines lost my suitcase, so I used a lot of public bathrooms while doing so. In-turn this case study had been birthed.

Some of the most critical elections have been happening worldwide between Sunak, Starmer, or Harris and Trump. Each party has yet to address how they will improve hygiene and cleaner solutions to the public. This lack of cleanliness is polluting our rivers, air, and bodies. In the UK, it has been declared in some areas, water is now unsafe to drink from the tap due to these high levels of pollution. What shocked me is that 8/10 toilet seats had yellow stains on them or were so loose because they had the wrong fittings you could not sit down properly, and at some points, small areas of bacteria had built up. In the pictures below, you can see that even in big chains worldwide, hygiene standards are low.

The pictures above are from some of the largest chains around the world, such as McDonald's. I have included an image of the Dyson 2in1 handwash and dryer to identify clearly the money that is being invested in the only visible areas. On average, a human will use the toilet at least 2000 times a year, and these large chains have hundreds of uses daily. There is a higher risk of transmission of diseases from toilet seats, as there is a massive labour shortage in the workplace, and insufficient staff is available to keep high cleaning standards as the resources are being used elsewhere. This is being seen time and time again. In many cities, toilet seat covers are provided; many of you would have seen them; they are a thin layer of plastic. It has been proven that these are not hygienic solutions and only worsen the problem because seat sheets are porous, which means they have holes large enough for microscopic organisms to travel through.
